Our approach

Jamboard.net respects the intellectual property rights of others and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512. Boards on this site are created by users, and users can add images and other material to them. If you believe that content accessible through the service infringes your copyright, you may send us a takedown notice using the process below.

How boards work — an important note

In v1, board content is stored locally in each visitor's own browser. We do not host a central copy of board drawings or uploaded images on our servers, and anyone with a board's link opens the board content shared through that link. This means our practical ability to remove specific board content is limited: where content is within our control (for example, anything hosted on our infrastructure or a future hosted/collaboration version), we will act on valid notices promptly; where content exists only in users' browsers or is shared peer-to-peer by link, the notice helps us act where we can, and you may also need to contact the person who shared the board.

How to send a takedown notice

Email hello@jamboard.net with the subject line “DMCA Takedown Notice” and include:

Notices that do not include the information above may not be effective under the DMCA.

What happens next

On receiving a valid notice, we will review it and, where the material is within our control, remove or disable access to it expeditiously, and take reasonable steps to notify the user who provided it. Repeat infringers' access to the service may be terminated where appropriate.

Counter-notification

If your content was removed and you believe it was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may email hello@jamboard.net with the subject line “DMCA Counter-Notification” and include: your name, address and telephone number; identification of the removed material and where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification; your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found) and that you will accept service of process from the original complainant; and your physical or electronic signature. On receiving a valid counter-notification, we may restore the material in accordance with the DMCA unless the complainant files a court action.
